01 Answer first
What must be approved before a PET water bottle enters production?
Approve controlled preform, bottle and neck drawings; material and weight basis; cap and tamper interface; critical dimensions; label panel; pack pattern; representative samples; and functional tests across blowing, transfer, filling, closing, labeling, packing and distribution. Record conditional approvals and change consequences.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Package engineering - before mold manufacture, machine tooling release and production-material FAT.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Brand bottle concept, nominal volumes, target weights and approved resin policy
- Neck finish, closure, tamper evidence, label and finished-pack requirements
- Distribution, storage, pallet and expected environmental conditions
- Authority for artwork, package, quality and change approvals
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Controlled preform, bottle and mold drawings with revision identification
- Critical dimensions, material assumptions and process window requiring confirmation
- Compatibility response for blower, filler, conveyors, labeler and packer
- Sample, trial, measurement and approval plan before tooling release
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Control the Geometry That Every Machine Uses
Neck finish, support ring, overall height, body diameter, base, label panel and handling surfaces affect transfers and change parts. Record tolerances and measuring methods rather than passing an uncontrolled sample between suppliers.
- Preform and neck reference dimensions
- Bottle height, diameter and support features
- Label panel and code zone
- Base and pack-contact geometry
Test the Bottle as Part of a Complete Pack
A bottle that leaves the mold successfully can still fail during filling, capping, warm transfer, wet labeling, shrink packing, pallet stacking or distribution. Build the approval sequence around the real closure, label, pack and handling conditions.
- Blow quality and dimensional consistency
- Fill, closure and leak performance
- Conveyor, label and pack stability
- Storage and distribution checks defined by the buyer
Separate Catalog Capability From the Approved Package
The Allot Tech catalog identifies PET blowing and water-filling equipment families as reference categories. It does not approve a specific preform, bottle, neck, cap, mold or line setting. Current compatibility requires the project data and documented trials.
- Catalog family is a planning reference
- Project drawings control tooling
- Representative materials control trials
- Signed revisions control later changes
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Is a bottle rendering enough to manufacture a mold?
No. Controlled drawings, material and neck data, critical dimensions, samples and an approval route are needed.
Why must the cap be approved with the bottle?
The neck and closure form one sealing and tamper-evidence interface and also determine capper tooling and settings.
Can bottle weight change after machine order?
A change may affect blowing, stiffness, conveying, labeling, packing and acceptance. It needs documented impact review before approval.
Who should approve the final bottle?
Named buyer authorities for brand, packaging and quality should approve it with the responsible equipment parties using controlled evidence.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- A visual rendering is approved without functional dimensions or tests
- The neck or cap changes after mold and capping tooling are manufactured
- Bottle lightweighting reduces transfer, labeling or pack stability
- Different teams use drawings and samples from different revisions
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
The package is released when drawings and physical samples share one revision, critical dimensions and materials are recorded, functional trials cover the intended line and pack, deviations are resolved, and change control protects downstream tooling.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Approved preform, bottle and neck drawings
- Closure, label and finished-pack interface specification
- Measurement and functional trial report
- Package approval and revision-control record
Evidence basis
Official references and project limits
These primary sources support the general planning principles used in this guide. The rules, evidence and responsible authority for the actual project country must still be confirmed locally.
10 Next project step
Turn this decision into a reviewable project brief
Share the product, container, target output, destination and available site information. Unknown inputs can remain open for the first review.
Turnkey scope is project-specific and is defined by the signed technical and commercial agreement.
