Size the Project Around Released Product, Not Isolated Machine Cycles

Water Bottling Plant Saleable Output Basis

Saleable output is the accepted and released production available for dispatch under an agreed operating scenario. It differs from nominal machine rate because the complete system includes format mix, changeovers, sanitation, planned stops, rejects, quality holds, and supporting constraints.

01 Answer first

What output figure should a buyer use to size a water bottling plant?

Use accepted and released saleable output for a defined SKU mix and operating period. Reconcile the complete line, scheduled losses, quality status, material supply, utilities, warehouse, and dispatch rather than multiplying one nominal equipment rate.

02 Where it fits

Position in the project journey

Capacity definition — before line sizing, commercial comparison, and acceptance planning.

Catalog Reference: This image helps explain complete-line project interfaces. It is not a fixed package, a completed client project or a performance claim; the confirmed configuration is project-specific.

03 Buyer inputs

What the buyer should prepare

  • SKU demand scenarios
  • Operating calendar
  • Product release and warehouse rules

04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs

What should be clarified or provided

  • Declared equipment conditions
  • Line constraint and interface data
  • Proposed test basis

Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.

05 Technical scope

Questions and work to control

Define the Output Unit and Reference Period

Choose bottles, packs, pallets, or another controlled unit and use the same SKU mix and period across demand, capacity, cost, and acceptance discussions.

Start With the Complete Line Constraint

Review treatment, bottle supply, filling, closing, labeling, coding, packing, pallet handling, utilities, labor, warehouse, and quality release as one system.

Separate Running Time From Available Time

Record planned shifts, breaks, cleaning, maintenance, format change, sampling, material replenishment, and other scheduled uses of the calendar.

Make Yield and Product Status Visible

Distinguish produced units from accepted units, rejected units, rework where permitted, quarantined stock, and released saleable stock.

Model the Approved SKU Mix

Calculate each relevant scenario using the planned product and pack mix because format rate, changeover, material handling, and quality work may differ.

Declare What the Supplier Can Test

FAT or performance tests use agreed samples, utilities, duration, staffing, and measurement rules. They do not reproduce every future operating condition.

Use Scenarios Instead of One Optimistic Number

Maintain a planning case, constrained case, and approved sensitivity basis tied to explicit inputs without implying future demand or utilization.

Approve a Capacity Reconciliation

The final basis should reconcile demand, operating calendar, line constraints, saleable yield, and storage or dispatch limits with named owners.

Buyer questions answered

Practical answers before you request a quotation

Is nominal bottles per hour the same as daily saleable output?

No. Daily output also depends on scheduled time, line constraints, losses, quality status, and the selected SKU mix.

Should every loss be fixed before quotation?

No. Record supported inputs and show unknown factors as assumptions or sensitivity cases.

Can FAT prove annual production?

FAT can test agreed conditions for a defined period; annual operation includes buyer systems and conditions outside that test.

06 Responsibility

Assign the owner before the work is due

Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.

07 Common risks

What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty

  • Nominal rate is treated as saleable output
  • Quality holds disappear from the model
  • Upstream and downstream constraints are omitted

08 Acceptance or completion

How to know the stage is complete

Approve when output is traceable to a defined period, SKU mix, complete-line constraint, scheduled time, yield, and release status.

09 Required documents

Records that support the decision

  • Saleable-output model
  • Capacity reconciliation
  • Performance-basis register
