01 Answer first
What should a water bottling monoblock closure FAT challenge prove?
Use reviewed challenge samples or safe simulations for approved good, missing, misapplied and selected out-of-control closure conditions. For each case, record the setup, expected detector state, bottle tracking, reject confirmation, containment, line response, reset and recovery. Pair this functional evidence with representative application, leak or opening checks under the buyer-approved package criteria.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Closure FAT execution - after the closure control plan is approved and before the monoblock leaves the factory.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Approved bottle-neck-closure specification and production-material samples
- Closure control plan, finished-package criteria and permitted FAT challenges
- Required witnesses, measurement methods and deviation authority
- Site-only checks, affected-product disposition and record-retention rules
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Released capper sequence, detector coverage, tracking and reject logic
- Safe challenge method, test-bottle identification and reconciliation procedure
- Time-aligned machine, alarm, reject and recovery evidence
- Executed result, deviations, retests and site-carryover register
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Translate the Approved Control Plan Into FAT Rows
Do not invent new closure limits during FAT. Build one row for each approved good or defect condition and state its initial machine state, sample or simulation method, expected detector and tracking response, reject destination, package check and pass rule.
- Approved sample condition and identifier
- Reviewed challenge insertion or simulation method
- Expected detection, tracking and reject result
- Package check, witness and pass rule
Separate Functional Challenges From Package Proof
A missing-cap or reject challenge verifies a defined machine function; it does not validate every possible seal defect. Record representative application, torque where applicable, leak, tamper or opening checks separately and tie each result to the approved bottle and closure revision.
- Detector function covered by each challenge
- Application or torque check where applicable
- Seal, leak, tamper or opening evidence
- Known defects outside supplied inspection coverage
Reconcile Every Challenge Through Recovery
Track the challenged bottle from insertion through its expected destination, confirm reject actuation and containment, record alarms and interlocks, and witness the controlled reset. Account for accepted, rejected and held bottles before the line returns to normal FAT operation.
- Time-aligned event and machine-state record
- Bottle tracking and reject confirmation
- Reject-bin, hold and count reconciliation
- Alarm reset, restart and accepted-output check
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Does this FAT page replace the routine closure control plan?
No. It assumes the package criteria and routine controls are approved, then verifies selected monoblock functions under witnessed factory challenges.
Does a cap-presence challenge prove the bottle will not leak?
No. It proves only the validated detection and handling function; seal integrity needs the approved package test.
Must defective bottles be created during FAT?
No. Use reviewed challenge samples or safe simulations suited to the function and record any defects that cannot be represented safely.
What must be recorded after a reject challenge?
Record detection, tracking, reject confirmation, containment, test-bottle reconciliation, reset, recovery and any deviation or site carryover.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- A sensor demonstration is accepted without tracing the challenged bottle to containment
- Unsafe improvised defects are introduced instead of reviewed samples or simulations
- A cap-presence challenge is treated as proof of seal integrity or opening performance
- Rejected, held and accepted test bottles are not reconciled before production resumes
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
The closure FAT challenge closes when every approved condition has a controlled test method and expected response, test bottles are identified and reconciled, detection, tracking, rejection and containment match the released logic, representative package checks meet buyer criteria, recovery is witnessed and deviations or site-only cases remain explicitly assigned.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Approved closure FAT challenge matrix
- Released closure control, tracking and reject references
- Challenge-bottle reconciliation and package-test report
- Deviation, retest and site-carryover register
