01 Answer first
How should water use and loss be calculated for a bottling plant?
Trace each water category through defined production, cleaning, regeneration, startup, shutdown, and upset modes. Include treatment yield, tanks, intermittent peaks, rejects, drains, and only locally reviewed recovery or reuse routes.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Process and utility engineering — before source, storage, drainage, and discharge design freeze.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Source availability and permissions
- Local drainage and reuse decisions
- Operating and sanitation modes
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Treatment yield and mode data
- Tank and control behavior
- Reject and drain interfaces
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Define Water Categories and Boundaries
Distinguish source, pretreatment, treated product water, service water, cleaning water, cooling water, reclaimed streams, wastewater, and stormwater where applicable.
Build the Balance by Operating Mode
Calculate production, startup, shutdown, cleaning, regeneration, maintenance, upset, and low-demand conditions rather than one average flow.
Use Source and Treatment Evidence
Base treatment yield and reject assumptions on source testing, selected process, operating conditions, specialist design, and vendor declarations.
Include Storage Dynamics
Review tank working volumes, refill logic, turnover, recirculation, minimum operating levels, overflow protection, and response to upstream or downstream stops.
Map Intermittent and Peak Uses
Sanitation, backwash, regeneration, rinsing, laboratory use, and hose stations can create peaks that disappear in daily totals.
Assess Recovery Without Crossing Product Controls
Any recovery or reuse route requires qualified local environmental, food-safety, process, and regulatory review for use, segregation, monitoring, and failure response.
Connect the Balance to Drainage and Permits
Provide flow, quality, temperature, chemical, timing, and discharge-route inputs needed by qualified local designers and responsible authorities.
Verify the Balance During Commissioning
Compare measured modes with the approved basis, investigate material differences, and update operating and environmental records before handover.
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Can treatment recovery be assumed from a generic design?
No. It depends on source characteristics, selected process, operating conditions, specialist design, and equipment data.
Why model cleaning separately?
Cleaning can create intermittent water, chemical, temperature, storage, and drain conditions unlike production.
Can reject water always be reused?
No. The route and use require project-specific technical, food-safety, environmental, and local regulatory review.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- Daily averages hide peak drain demand
- Treatment reject is omitted
- Reuse crosses an unapproved product or sanitation boundary
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
Approve when all modes balance within declared data quality and each outlet has an assigned route, owner, and local review status.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Water balance
- Stream register
- Measured commissioning reconciliation
