01 Answer first
How should a buyer define success for a water bottling plant project?
Define success as a controlled set of product, operating, site, quality, delivery, and handover outcomes with named owners and reviewable evidence. Keep commercial forecasts outside technical acceptance unless a signed agreement explicitly defines a relevant input.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Project definition — before feasibility assumptions become an equipment scope.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Market and product intent
- Operating and launch priorities
- Decision owners and local advisers
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Declared technical boundary
- Proposed evidence and acceptance route
- Assumptions, exclusions, and required inputs
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
State the Business Need Without Turning It Into a Machine Request
Describe the customers, products, service problem, launch condition, and operating capability the project must create. Keep forecast assumptions separate from verified requirements.
Convert Objectives Into Observable Plant Outcomes
For each objective, define an outcome that can be reviewed, such as an approved product range, a controlled production route, trained roles, or a complete handover record.
Set the Product and Market Boundary
Name the water categories, bottle families, closure and label systems, secondary packs, target jurisdictions, and distribution conditions included in the decision.
Separate Project Success From Commercial Forecasts
Project acceptance can test agreed technical and documentary conditions. Future sales, utilization, and business results remain buyer-owned planning assumptions.
Assign Decision Owners and Advisers
Identify who approves product, source, site, finance, food safety, local engineering, project scope, operations, and launch readiness. Unknown ownership is a project risk.
Define Evidence for Each Success Criterion
Link every criterion to a document, test, inspection, approval, training record, or signed decision. Avoid adjectives that have no review method.
Record Exclusions and Conditions
State which buildings, utilities, local approvals, buyer services, materials, logistics, and operating duties are outside the supplier boundary or still provisional.
Approve an Objectives Brief Before Scope Comparison
Release the brief only when decision owners accept the priorities, evidence, exclusions, and unresolved conditions that bidders must use.
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Is a target line speed a complete project objective?
No. It omits product mix, saleable output, site, quality, people, utilities, logistics, and handover responsibilities.
Can commercial forecasts be factory acceptance criteria?
Commercial forecasts are buyer planning inputs. Technical acceptance should use agreed and testable project conditions.
Who approves success criteria?
Named buyer decision owners should approve them with qualified local and technical input where applicable.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- Equipment is selected before objectives are agreed
- Sales assumptions are confused with technical evidence
- Success words have no owner or review method
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
Approve when each objective has a boundary, owner, evidence type, priority, and treatment of open assumptions.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Project objectives brief
- Success-criteria register
- Assumptions and exclusions log
10 Next project step
Turn this decision into a reviewable project brief
Share the product, container, target output, destination and available site information. Unknown inputs can remain open for the first review.
Turnkey scope is project-specific and is defined by the signed technical and commercial agreement.
