01 Answer first
What should a water bottling plant process flow diagram show?
Show the source-to-finished-product route, major equipment and buffers, recirculation and cleaning paths, packaging inputs, rejects, sampling and measurement points, utilities, waste routes, and buyer-supplier battery limits.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Basic engineering — before detailed layout, piping, controls, and utility design.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Source and product basis
- Quality and status-control needs
- Local utility and waste boundaries
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Process route and equipment tags
- Connection and control interfaces
- Revision updates after changes
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Begin With the Approved Source and Product Basis
Reference source characteristics, intended water category, treatment decision, package family, and target-market assumptions that control the diagram.
Show Main Process Equipment and Buffers
Include intake, pretreatment, treatment, treated-water storage and distribution, container preparation, filling, closing, inspection, packing, and product-status points.
Add Cleaning and Recirculation Paths
Identify return paths, drains, cleaning connections, chemical interfaces, isolation points, and the operating modes that can change flow direction.
Map Packaging and Finished-Goods Movement
Show where bottles or preforms, caps, labels, codes, secondary packs, pallets, rejects, quarantine, and released goods enter or leave the system.
Identify Measurement and Sampling Locations
Mark the process values, sampling access, status indications, and records required by the approved control plan without inventing universal limits.
Declare Battery Limits and Interfaces
Define connections to buyer utilities, building services, laboratories, waste handling, data systems, and locally engineered works.
Verify the Diagram Against Layout and Controls
Cross-check tags, equipment, flow direction, connection points, access, valve or instrument references, and control narratives across disciplines.
Control Revisions Through Commissioning
Update the flow diagram after approved changes and field verification so the final issue reflects the installed and handed-over configuration.
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Is a process flow diagram the same as a piping drawing?
No. It shows process logic and major flows; detailed piping and instrumentation records add connection and control detail.
Should packaging appear on the diagram?
Yes when packaging inputs, rejects, status, or transfers affect the complete bottling process and interfaces.
When is the diagram final?
After approved changes and installed conditions are verified and incorporated into the handover revision.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- Cleaning or reject paths are omitted
- Disciplines use different equipment tags
- The handover issue does not reflect field changes
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
Approve when all material flows, operating modes, measurement points, and battery limits reconcile with the current design basis.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Process flow diagram
- Equipment list
- Interface register
10 Next project step
Turn this decision into a reviewable project brief
Share the product, container, target output, destination and available site information. Unknown inputs can remain open for the first review.
Turnkey scope is project-specific and is defined by the signed technical and commercial agreement.
