01 Answer first
Which water bottling line equipment is required and which is optional?
Required equipment performs a necessary step for the confirmed water, container, closure and saleable pack. Conditional equipment becomes necessary only when a stated route is selected, such as PET blowing or returnable-container washing. Optional equipment improves automation, inspection, flexibility or handling but must not conceal a missing core process.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Equipment-scope screening - after product definition and before detailed quotation and layout.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Finished-water identity, raw-water report and responsible local quality route
- Purchased bottle, preform, returnable or glass container supply decision
- Bottle, cap, label, code and distribution-pack specifications
- Required output, staffing concept, site limits and future-format priorities
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Process flow showing why each proposed machine is needed
- Required, conditional, optional, redundant and buyer-side classification
- Consequences of omitting each conditional or optional system
- Layout, utility, control and acceptance effects of selected options
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Start With Functions Before Machine Names
List the necessary functions: prepare and monitor water, provide an accepted container, rinse where required, fill, close, identify, form the distribution pack and move materials safely. Only then assign machines, manual work or buyer-side systems to those functions.
- Water-quality and hygienic-storage functions
- Container supply and preparation functions
- Primary filling and closure functions
- Identification, packing and dispatch functions
Treat Route-Dependent Equipment as Conditional
A PET blower is conditional on in-house bottle production; a decapper and multi-stage washer are conditional on returnable 5-gallon operation; a glass bottle washer depends on container condition. State the trigger that converts each item from unnecessary to required.
- Selected container-supply route
- Product and local treatment decision
- Automation and staffing boundary
- Finished-pack and warehouse method
Evaluate Options by Measurable Project Consequence
Inspection, automatic changeovers, accumulation, palletizing or redundancy may be valuable, but evaluate them through the problem they solve, required utilities, controls, floor space, maintenance and acceptance method rather than a generic premium label.
- Defined operating or quality objective
- Added interfaces and maintenance burden
- Test method and evidence at acceptance
- Commercial and schedule decision deadline
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Is a PET bottle blower required for every water line?
No. It is needed only when the project makes bottles from preforms. Purchased empty bottles create a different storage and quality-control route.
Is reverse osmosis always required?
No. Treatment must follow source-water data, finished-product identity and applicable requirements; a universal equipment train is not responsible.
Is palletizing optional?
Its status depends on output, pack weight, warehouse method and labor plan. The project must still define how accepted packs reach storage safely.
How should options be compared?
Record the problem solved, dependencies, utility and layout effects, test method, commercial effect and last responsible decision date.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- A low quotation omits a necessary auxiliary or product-control step
- An attractive option is purchased before a core interface is funded
- Bottle blowing or treatment is included although the chosen route does not require it
- Optional inspection is represented as proof of regulatory compliance
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
The equipment schedule is complete when each item has a necessity category, technical reason, owner, price status and interface consequence, and the remaining process can still produce the approved pack without an unexplained gap.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Approved source-to-pack process flow
- Required, conditional and optional equipment matrix
- Option consequence and dependency register
- Final equipment list with exclusions and open decisions
Evidence basis
Official references and project limits
These primary sources support the general planning principles used in this guide. The rules, evidence and responsible authority for the actual project country must still be confirmed locally.
10 Next project step
Turn this decision into a reviewable project brief
Share the product, container, target output, destination and available site information. Unknown inputs can remain open for the first review.
Turnkey scope is project-specific and is defined by the signed technical and commercial agreement.
