01 Answer first
How should a factory acceptance test protocol be prepared for a water bottling line?
Trace tests to signed requirements, define factory configuration and limitations, prerequisites, samples, utilities, steps, expected results, measurements, fault cases, acceptance, deviation and retest rules, and the complete evidence package before FAT starts.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Factory-test planning — approved before FAT setup, materials, and witness travel.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Contractual test and evidence needs
- Approved witness and decision roles
- Representative materials and data
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Ready configuration and internal checks
- Executable protocol and instruments
- Results, deviations, and retests
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Build Traceability From Requirements to Tests
Identify which contractual requirement, interface, function, format, document, alarm, safety input, or performance basis each test addresses.
Define the Test Configuration
List included equipment, software and recipe revisions, temporary utilities, simulated systems, bypasses, test instruments, and items unavailable at the factory.
Set Prerequisites and Readiness Evidence
Require internal checks, approved protocol, available materials, calibrated instruments, closed critical issues, safe access, and complete witness information.
Specify Samples and Operating Conditions
Control bottle, cap, label, code, secondary-pack, water or substitute, format, duration, speed basis, staffing, and environmental conditions for each test.
Write Repeatable Test Steps
State initial condition, action, expected response, observed result, measurement, record, acceptance, responsible tester, and witness status.
Challenge Fault and Recovery Behavior
Include agreed alarm, interlock, starved, blocked, sensor fault, reject failure, stop, emergency, utility-loss simulation, reset, and restart cases where safe and applicable.
Control Deviations and Retests
Define severity, immediate containment, evidence, disposition authority, correction, affected tests, retest conditions, open-item status, and shipment consequence.
Issue a Complete FAT Record
Compile signed results, raw measurements, photos or files where agreed, configuration, materials, instruments, deviations, open actions, and final release decision.
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Should the protocol be written during FAT?
No. It should be reviewed early enough to prepare samples, utilities, configuration, witnesses, instruments, and corrections.
Can factory simulation prove site performance?
It proves only the agreed factory conditions; site utilities, building, local works, people, and materials may differ.
What happens when a test fails?
Use the agreed deviation, containment, disposition, correction, affected-test, retest, and release process.
Is a remote FAT enough for an imported water bottling line?
Remote witnessing can support review when the protocol identifies the actual equipment, live views, readable controls, representative materials, raw records, continuous test segments and witness authority. List every utility, interface, material or site condition that cannot be proved remotely and carry it into a controlled SAT or commissioning test.
How should an FAT result be treated when production bottles, caps or labels are unavailable?
Record the substitute specification, lot, differences and reason for use before the test. Limit the conclusion to the condition demonstrated, identify which settings or functions remain provisional and define the production-material confirmation required before site acceptance or commercial release.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- Test scope is negotiated during witnessing
- Temporary bypasses are not recorded
- Failed tests have no shipment consequence
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
Approve when every test has traceability, conditions, steps, expected result, evidence, witness status, and a defined failure route.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- FAT protocol
- FAT readiness checklist
- Signed FAT report
10 Next project step
Turn this decision into a reviewable project brief
Share the product, container, target output, destination and available site information. Unknown inputs can remain open for the first review.
Turnkey scope is project-specific and is defined by the signed technical and commercial agreement.
