01 Answer first
Which interfaces must be controlled from cap storage to applied closure?
Control approved cap and neck data, material status, replenishment, sorting, orientation, chute transfer, application setup, cap detection, reject confirmation, changeover, line clearance, cleaning, and lot traceability as one closure path.
02 Where it fits
Position in the project journey
Closure-system engineering — before feeder, chute, capper, inspection, and format release.
03 Buyer inputs
What the buyer should prepare
- Approved closure suppliers and specifications
- Material status and traceability rules
- Closure-quality and disposition criteria
04 Allot Tech and manufacturing-resource inputs
What should be clarified or provided
- Feeder, chute, capper, and sensor capability
- Setup and format requirements
- Functional and challenge-test plan
Allot Tech coordinates requirement, quotation and project communication. Detailed engineering, manufacture, testing, documentation and confirmed service are performed by selected manufacturing resources according to the signed scope.
05 Technical scope
Questions and work to control
Freeze Cap and Neck-Finish Specifications
Link material, dimensions, liner or seal features where applicable, tamper features, color, supplier, drawings, samples, and change control for each closure family.
Map Storage and Replenishment
Define receipt status, protected storage, container opening, handling, hopper replenishment, lot identity, line clearance, leftover material, and contamination prevention.
Test Sorting and Orientation
Use approved production samples to verify feeding, orientation, jams, damaged caps, wrong closures, empty hopper, and recovery across intended formats.
Engineer the Chute and Transfer Path
Coordinate elevation, capacity, supports, access, covers, sensors, cap drop, starvation, backup, cleaning, and safe removal of jams.
Integrate Application Setup
Define chuck or head format, settings, container control, cap pickup, application verification, first-off approval, and adjustment authority.
Set Detection and Reject Logic
Identify missing, wrong, tilted, damaged, or application concerns the approved system is intended to detect, plus reject confirmation and product disposition.
Control Changeover and Line Clearance
Document material reconciliation, removal of previous closures, cleaning, tooling, settings, recipe access, sample verification, and release.
Verify the Entire Closure Path
Test replenishment, low cap, jam, starvation, restart, wrong-material challenge where approved, application, inspection, reject, and traceability interfaces.
Buyer questions answered
Practical answers before you request a quotation
Can visually similar caps share one setup?
Only after drawings, materials, geometry, handling, application, inspection, and test evidence support the declared format.
Why control leftover caps at changeover?
Residual material can create wrong-component use and traceability errors in the next production run.
Does cap presence prove correct application?
No. The approved quality plan should define which closure conditions require checks and how they are evidenced.
06 Responsibility
Assign the owner before the work is due
Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
07 Common risks
What commonly creates avoidable uncertainty
- Old caps remain after changeover
- A chute jam bypasses status control
- Inspection detects presence but not the approved concern
08 Acceptance or completion
How to know the stage is complete
Approve when each closure family is controlled from material receipt through application, inspection, reject, and documented line clearance.
09 Required documents
Records that support the decision
- Closure format matrix
- Cap-path control narrative
- Challenge-test record
