There is no reliable universal duration. The schedule depends on requirement and package-data freezes, approvals, selected systems, manufacturing, FAT disposition, logistics, import, site construction, utilities, installation and commissioning. Build the Schedule Around Project Gates

The sequence can include requirement freeze, technical freeze, layout freeze, manufacturing release, FAT acceptance, shipping release, site-ready confirmation, mechanical completion, commissioning, training, and handover. Each gate needs an owner, due input, controlled revision, and completion evidence.

Separate Work That Can Overlap From Work That Cannot

Some site preparation may proceed against approved layout and utility information while manufacturing continues. Other work must wait for a controlled release. The schedule should expose these dependencies instead of hiding them inside one delivery-date promise.

Protect the Critical Buyer Inputs

Late water analysis, bottle drawings, label or pack changes, building revisions, delayed drawing approvals, utility uncertainty, import preparation, and an unready site can move the critical path. Record the decision owner and consequence for every open input.

Use Readiness Evidence Before Mobilizing the Next Stage

FAT disposition should precede the agreed shipping release; receiving and site checks should precede installation; mechanical completion and stable utilities should precede controlled startup. The signed technical and commercial agreement defines the actual milestones and responsibility boundary.

Can a project start before every detail is known?

Concept work can start, but each manufacturing or site activity needs a defined release basis. Open inputs should have owners, dates and recorded consequences.

Which delays are often buyer-side?

Water and package data, drawing approvals, building changes, utilities, permits, import preparation, unloading arrangements and site readiness can all control the critical path.

Can manufacturing and site preparation overlap?

Yes, when both proceed against approved information and the schedule shows their interfaces. Unreleased assumptions should not become construction facts.

Why not publish a fixed completion time?

Plant scope, formats, manufacturing resources, destination, site condition and acceptance plan differ. Only the signed project schedule can define the actual milestones.

06 Responsibility

Assign the owner before the work is due

Land, building and civil work, permits, import and customs, local taxes, site utilities, unloading, lifting, local labor, travel support and commissioning materials are not automatically included. Confirm every responsibility before order.
